Gwen's life has been a rollercoaster since she discovered she was the Ruby, the final member of the secret time-traveling Circle of Twelve. In between searching through history for the other time-travelers and asking for a bit of their blood (gross!), she's been trying to figure out what all the mysteries and prophecies surrounding the Circle really mean.
At least Gwen has plenty of help. Her best friend Lesley follows every lead diligently on the Internet. James the ghost teaches Gwen how to fit in at an eighteenth century party. And Xemerius, the gargoyle demon who has been following Gwen since he caught her kissing Gideon in a church, offers advice on everything. Oh, yes. And of course there is Gideon, the Diamond. One minute he's very warm indeed; the next he's freezing cold. Gwen's not sure what's going on there, but she's pretty much destined to find out.

Gwen has a destiny to fulfill, but no one will tell her what it is.
She's only recently learned that she is the Ruby, the final member of the time-traveling Circle of Twelve, and since then nothing has been going right. She suspects the founder of the Circle, Count Saint-German, is up to something nefarious, but nobody will believe her. And she's just learned that her charming time-traveling partner, Gideon, has probably been using her all along.
Emerald Green is the stunning conclusion to Kerstin Gier's Ruby Red Trilogy, picking up where Sapphire Blue left off, reaching new heights of intrigue and romance as Gwen finally uncovers the secrets of the time-traveling society and learns her fate.

PERSONAL VALORATION

Justification:
I discovered this trilogy one day I was watching TV and they were shooting the first movie, at that time I liked it so much that I did some research on the internet and I saw that it was based on some books, that's when I decided to read them. I have to confess that I fell deeply in love with the actor who plays Gideon hahahaha.

Plot:
Gwen lives in a family (somewhat peculiar) that hides a great secret: her cousin is the one chosen to be the last traveler in time, but ... what if everything changes overnight and instead of being her cousin? (the one that has been taught for it: manners, history, languages etc) now is she? Poor Gwen is immersed in a secret lodge in which the time travels of the Twelve elect are controlled, of which only the last two live in the 21st century: Gwen and Gideon. They must gather the blood of the twelve time travelers to open the chronograph and protect the power it hides inside. In the middle of all this Gwen and Gideon begin to have a relationship. What if his mission is a trap for someone to obtain greater power? In one way or another they will discover the truth and must fight for their lives, but ... and if to save a life, you must sacrifice a life?

Characters:
  • Gwen: She is a young student of 16 years (she has lived in the shadow of her "perfect" cousin Charlotte), she is a little clumsy (characteristic that makes her a little adorable), naive, sincere and above all very brave. I am impressed by how she deals with everything in The Lodge and that part of the prophecy now depends on her, as she was not educated as her cousin is very funny how she manages to get out of trouble in other centuries.
  • Gideon: A few years older than Gwen and a medical student. At the beginning it gives us an impression of knowing and arrogant. He despises Gwen for having "annoyed" the plans they had, but throughout the trilogy they both get to know each other and bring out their most affectionate, sweet side ...

Then there are other characters like: Charlotte (the perfect cousin), Leslie (the best friend and great help for Gwen), Count of Saint Germain (the selfish and unpleasant "ringleader" of the Lodge) great-aunt Maddy (she's a little crazy, but it's so funny ...), Xemerius (our beloved gargoyle who wants a kitten), James, Lucy and Paul ...

Atmosphere:
This is very well the idea of time travel, the theme of the secret organization, the mysterious prophecy that they have to achieve ... but. There is a detail that I did not like: the male characters of the secret organization (The Lodge) treat women inferiorly, they believe that all the power and decision making is made by man.

Writing style:
Solo pude definirlo como MUY LENTO e incluso puede ser repetitivo. En mi opinión, podría haber llevado más juegos a algunos temas, como viajar en el tiempo y la historia detrás de ellos.
